Everyday Tools is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards under the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 standards.
1. Measures to Support Accessibility
To guarantee that our 290 web utilities remain accessible, Everyday Tools integrates accessibility into our core development lifecycle:
- Semantic HTML5 Structure: All pages utilize semantic landmark elements (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<article>,<aside>,<footer>) to allow rapid assistive technology navigation. - Full Keyboard Operability: All calculators, buttons, input fields, copy-to-clipboard controls, and navigation menus can be operated entirely using a standard computer keyboard (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and Arrow keys). Focus indicators are prominently styled with clear visual rings.
- High Contrast Visual Styling: Text, buttons, and form labels meet or exceed the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- ARIA Accessibility Annotations: Dynamic calculation results use
aria-live="polite"regions, form controls link to explicit<label>elements, and expandable navigation drawers declarearia-expandedstates. - Responsive Scaling & Zoom: The portal supports browser zoom up to 200% without breaking layout, overlapping text, or causing horizontal scroll on desktop and mobile viewports.
- Touch Target Sizing: All interactive buttons and mobile controls maintain a minimum target area of 48 × 48 CSS pixels in compliance with mobile accessibility guidelines.
2. Multilingual and Bidirectional (RTL) Support
Everyday Tools provides localized interfaces in English, Spanish (Español), Hindi (हिन्दी), and Arabic (العربية). For Arabic, our layout automatically activates full Right-to-Left (dir="rtl") layout transformations with mirrored navigation and iconography.
3. Assistive Technology Compatibility
Everyday Tools is designed to be compatible with modern screen readers and assistive devices, including:
- NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) on Windows / Chromium / Firefox;
- JAWS on Windows;
- Apple VoiceOver on macOS and iOS Safari;
- Google TalkBack on Android.
4. Feedback and Contact Information
